Hotel accomodations

Specially discounted hotel rates are available at the Courtyard by Marriott Sacramento Midtown, located on the Sacramento campus, the Best Western Med Inn & Suites and at other local hotels. For assistance in locating accommodations for yourself or your family prior to, during or following an inpatient stay at UC Davis Medical Center, call (800) 2-UC DAVIS between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Kiwanis Family House

Pediatric patients and their families, who often travel long distances to receive treatment at UC Davis Children's Hospital, may be elligible for low-cost lodging near the hospital in the the Kiwanis Family House. The Kiwanis Family House is located on the grounds of the Sacramento campus and offers inexpensive family accommodations — with individual bedrooms, kitchen facilities, bathrooms, laundry, pay phone, and hook-ups for recreational vehicles. Kiwanis Clubs from around the Sacramento region provide financial support and volunteer staff for the facility.

Residency in the Kiwanis Family House is determined by the Department of Clinical Social Services and is by referral only. Call Social Services (916) 734-2234, for more information.

Ronald McDonald House

Ronald McDonald House is located on the grounds of the Sacramento campus. Guests come to the Ronald McDonald House through a referral system. Referrals are accepted from the social workers at all of the local hospitals, emergency rooms, doctor's offices and the like. About three to five days before the family is due to arrive, the family will receive a call from the social workers or doctor's office to confirm their stay if a room is available.

The room cost is $60 per night; however, families are asked to pay $20. No family is ever turned away who is in financial difficulty; a portion or the entire fee may be waived. For more information, please phone (916) 734-4230.
