Optional Curriculum

The advisory committee and mentor for each Interdisciplinary Women's Health Research (IWHR) Scholar may recommend that the scholar take other courses offered by the medical or graduate school if the courses will provide new skills or knowledge base to enhance the scholar's research experience. This may be particularly important for scholars who are less experienced in one or more aspects of women's health.

Elective Didactic Curriculum

Several courses will be available to IWHR Scholars to supplement their background in basic science and research topics.  We will collaborate with the Mentored Clinical Research Training Program (MCRTP) so that IWHR Scholars will be able to enroll in the courses that they offer including:

  • Advanced Concepts in Epidemiologic Study Design
  • Challenges and Opportunities in Clinical

  •  Responsible Conduct of Clinical Research
  •  Methods in Clinical Research
