The Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing hosts lectures, speaker series and other special events that reflect the school's vision and mission to transform health care through nursing education and research. 

October 28, 2009 – Central Valley and Northern California Nurse Faculty Town-Hall Meeting: Nurse faculty from the Central Valley and Northern California region joined the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing for a town hall meeting to discuss how to create the best opportunities for nursing students and other health professionals. Click here to watch the event.

October 22, 2009 – Yuba-Sutter-area Town Hall: Health-care professionals and residents of the Yuba-Sutter area are invited to participate in a town-hall meeting to collect input about the development of new nursing graduate education programs, curriculum, faculty and student recruitment and development, as well as collaborative opportunities to ensure education and health-care opportunities for rural communities such as the Yuba-Sutter area. Join us from 4 to 6 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 22 at the Conference Center, 989 Plumas St., across from the Fremont Medical Center. View flyer 

October 14, 2009- 2009 Seminar Series Lecture- "Using Technology to Manage Chronic Illness in Older Adults at Home" presented by Bonnie Wakefield, Ph.D., R.N., F.A.A.N. Dr. Wakefield’s “Using Technology to Manage Chronic Illness in Older Adults at Home,” describes a series of studies evaluating use of remote monitoring to allow older adults to manage chronic illness and remain in their homes. Wakefield was appointed associate research professor for the Sinclair School of Nursing at the University of Missouri in fall 2005.  She also serves as director of health services research and development at Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans' Hospital in Columbia, Mo.

September 17, 2009 – Rural Health Care Town-Hall Meeting: This town-hall meeting collected input from Truckee area residents and health professionals about the development of new nursing graduate education programs, curriculum, faculty recruitment and development, as well as collaborative opportunities to ensure education and health-care opportunities for rural areas such as Tahoe. The town hall was held at the Tahoe Forest Hospital. 

August 18, 2009 – Breakfast with Two International Nurse Professors: The Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis hosted a lecture with Annemarie Kesselring and Tamar Krulik . The two nursing professors presented information on their work in Switzerland and Israel.

June 2009 –
UC Davis Health Informatics and the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing proudly presented the June 2009 Seminar Series Lecture, "Knowledge Translation and the Point of Care: Nursing Informatics." with guest lecturer, Suzanne Bakken, D.N.Sc., R.N., F.A.A.N. Watch Dr. Bakken's lecture.
