The Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis is founded on a vision of discovering and disseminating knowledge to advance health, improve quality of care and shape policy. The Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation and UC Davis share a vision to launch a new, innovative School of Nursing that will transform health care through nursing education, research and leadership. This level of excellence and system change could not be achieved by one entity alone and requires a public-private partnership utilizing the resources and expertise of each partner to launch and sustain the school. The partnership is extended to others who share this vision to transform health care and advance the field of nursing. A mix of public funding and philanthropic support from other donors — including individuals, foundations and corporations — will be required to realize the long-term vision. Gifts to the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis will:

• Provide endowed chairs and professorships to assist with recruitment of nurse leaders, faculty and administrators.
  
  
• Fund program endowments to support a unique, immersive curriculum that incorporates interdisciplinary team learning, the use of novel technology, scientific rigor and leadership preparation.
  
  
• Provide scholarships and fellowships to enable nursing students to pursue their studies full time, including the completion of a residency program.
