Human Gross Anatomy Graduate Student Teacher Jenny Plasse has recently been honored with a 2009 Graduate Student Teaching Award. Jenny was one of twelve graduate student teaching recipients to receive this award at an awards ceremony hosted by Chancellor Vanderhoef. The award co-sponsored by the Graduate Council, the Office of Graduate Studies and the Teaching Resource Center annually honors outstanding graduate students for their teaching efforts.
Search Underway for Department Chair
The Department of Cell Biology and Human Anatomy is currently conducting a nationwide search for a chair who will oversee a teaching and research department numbering more than 80 faculty, staff, postdoctorate fellows and graduate students.
The department, awarded numerous times for its distinguished teaching and highly regarded for its cutting-edge research, is currently engaged in a number of research projects including neural and embryonic stem cell research, cancer biology, vision science, and intracellular trafficking and cell matrix interactions.
